We work directly with farming families across three Peruvian regions. The same wild-strain cacao grows differently with altitude, soil, climate, and tradition — so each origin hands your chocolate a flavor of its own to build on. Our co-founder Jose, a specialist in post-harvest, fermentation, and drying, works hands-on with these communities on every lot — the steps that shape how a bean tastes long before it reaches your bench. We don't blend. We don't mask. Every lot arrives as the place that made it, traceable to the community that grew it.
Why heirloom & native cacao
Beans with character your customers can taste — and a story you can tell.
- Distinct, terroir-driven flavor — complex profiles you can't get from commodity cacao; a real point of difference for your bars or drinks.
- Minimal processing, maximum character — fermented and dried at origin to protect flavor and nuance.
- A story worth telling — name the region, the cooperative, and the harvest; the traceability makers and their customers increasingly expect.
How we source
Traceable, origin-led lots — direct relationships with smallholder communities and co-ops; transparent about where each lot comes from.
Above-market prices — premiums on top of NY prices that help protect land, culture, and quality.
Long-term partnerships — steady, repeat sourcing, not opportunistic spot buying.

FAQ
Yes - a 1 kg sample enough for a real test batch. Credited toward your first larger order.
No. Start with a sample, then order the volume your batch needs - by the kilo or the bag. There's no minimum to grow into.
Pricing reflects the origin, lot size, post-harvest process, and logistics required to move cacao from origin to our warehouse in San Diego and ultimately to your workshop. We share clear ranges for each origin and explain what’s driving the price—so you understand how it supports farmers, communities, and the quality you’re buying. Once we align on a specific lot and volume, we confirm final numbers together before moving ahead.
For partners located outside the United States, we can also arrange shipments directly from Peru to your location when that makes more logistical or economic sense.
For larger freight shipments, we work with you to choose an approach that fits your scale and location. In some cases we can coordinate freight on your behalf; in others, we’ll align on Incoterms and work alongside your preferred logistics partner. Lead times vary by origin, season, and route, but we’ll always provide a realistic timeline and keep you updated as your cacao moves through the process.
For orders fulfilled within the United States, products are shipped directly from our warehouse in Carlsbad, San Diego.
We recommend storing beans in a cool, dry, odor‑free space with stable conditions and good airflow—away from direct sunlight or strong smells. Shelf life depends on origin, storage, and handling, but well‑kept beans can remain in good condition for an extended period.
A lot spec sheet (origin, harvest, fermentation, moisture). Lab analyses and origin docs on request.
